Taipei Food Guide 6 : Safranbolu Turkish Restaurant (蕃紅花城土耳其餐廳)

Hello, this is Oracle!

Recently, a graduate school junior of mine came to visit from China. She wanted to try something different from her usual meals, so we decided to check out a famous Turkish restaurant in Taipei.

The restaurant is called Safranbolu Turkish Restaurant (蕃紅花城土耳其餐廳).

I had heard a lot of great recommendations from people around me, so this visit was the perfect opportunity to finally give it a try.

Since the restaurant requires each person to order at least one dish, we ended up ordering four dishes in total.

First up: Bread and Soup

The meal started with some complimentary bread and soup.

At first glance, the bread looked quite firm, but it turned out to have a pleasantly chewy texture. The soup was made by blending beans with meat, and it was absolutely delicious.

The bread wasn’t particularly large, but it was thick and satisfying.

Personally, I enjoy the flatbread from Saizeriya, and this had a similar taste, which I really liked.

Grilled Chicken Set

Next, we had the Grilled Chicken Set.

The rice had a nice savory flavor, and the side dishes—pickled cabbage, roasted potatoes, and grilled tomatoes—were all delicious. Everything complemented each other well!

Beef Set

The Beef Set was another highlight. The beef had a firm yet tender texture, making every bite enjoyable.

Lamb Set

The Lamb Set stole the show! It was the most flavorful dish of the night, and I think I’ll be coming back just for this next time.

Meat Pie

We also ordered a Meat Pie, and it was quite interesting!

The top layer of the pastry was crispy, while the bottom was chewy, creating a nice contrast in texture. It was generously filled with meat and cheese, making it quite hearty. The overall flavor leaned a bit dry, but it had a clean and satisfying taste.

Turkish cuisine isn’t something you come across every day in Taiwan, so I was really happy to find a restaurant that serves such great flavors. I got to try a variety of dishes, and the lamb was definitely the standout! Next time, I’d love to explore more of their menu.

If you’re looking for delicious Turkish food in Taipei, I highly recommend Safranbolu Turkish Restaurant!

Thanks for reading! I’ll be back with more delicious stories soon!
